Licht is genuinely struck by the calm and contentment that fills Lynn's hometown. The townsfolk seem untroubled, their days flowing with an easy joy he rarely witnesses elsewhere. Yet this tranquil atmosphere doesn't last—Jail, the officer commanding Lynn, makes his appearance, and his presence immediately shatters the serenity they had all been enjoying.
