Palin takes on a thrilling challenge from the BBC to travel around the globe in just 80 days. Boarding the Orient Express at Victoria Station in London, he reflects on the intense training he undertook for this remarkable journey. His adventure leads him through Europe but is interrupted by an Italian train strike in Innsbruck. He eventually reaches Venice by coach, where he lends a hand to the sanitation crew in restoring the city's beauty. Continuing on to the Corinth Canal and Athens, he admires the famous evzones and encounters a passionate Python enthusiast. After a quick visit to Crete, he sets his sights on Alexandria, noting that his referees include fellow Pythons, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam.
