Leyla and Mecnun (1983)
A fortune teller foretells that the Sultan's daughter will one day marry a poor boy born on the very same day as her. To prevent this, the Sultan orders every infant boy born that day to be killed—only Kadir survives. Kadir and Leyla grow up side by side, and Leyla falls in love with him, but the Sultan forbids the match. He commands Kadir's death, yet Kadir endures, gravely wounded. Leyla discovers where he's imprisoned, but their escape attempt fails. Leyla dies, and Kadir, robbed of his beloved, wanders into the desert, carrying her image forever in his heart.
